The whole obsession thing really just started because of my show, it made for a better radio personality. But, I do have a great respect for the music that Mike Patton puts out and would consider myself a big fan of his, not just one particular project exactly, since any band will have it's hits or misses, I just think the whole process of experimenting with sound and voice is one that I'm a fan of. John Zorn is becomming a new obsession of mine as I delve more into this genre, we'll see where it takes me.

Rahzel and Patton

Mike Patton: I am obesessed, as most of you know. I play anything that Mike Patton has worked on (Mr. Bungle, Faith No More, Tomahawk, Loveage, Fantomas, Dillinger Escape Plan just to name a few). I am always glad to hear any news about him, so if you have any stories or encounters, pictures too... you can send them to me. I met him last summer, actually and some pictures were taken from afar, but I don't think they developed very well. He gave me a hug and shook my hand and patted me on the back. He met and surpassed my expectations. My latest project is working on getting his lounge singer alter ego to eventually play my wedding. That could be dangerous for I might run off with him. You can click on his picture to link to more pictures of him.

I saw MIKE PATTON perform with Rahzel at Irving Plaza (my favorite venue in NY) and words cannot describe, but just their two voices combined sounded like a hundred frequencies of sound simultaneously and made incredible sound and music. If you get the opportunity to experience it for yourself I suggest you do.

Part II: I saw MIKE PATTON perform again with Rahzel, this time out in Brooklyn right before New Years 2006. The crowd was kinda lame, and it took forever for anyone to get on stage, but in the end it was worth it. Rahzel wanted the crowd to sing Slick Rick's La-di-da-di, but no one but one white guy in the crowd knew all of the lyrics. Here's a link to the lyrics if you'd like to brush up on that sort of thing... me, now, I don't really care: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/s/slick-rick/126338.html

Missed Opportunity: Definitely missed Patton playing with John Zorn on New Years Eve, though my New Years was quite fun, link to pictures of my drunk ass on Rebecca Schiffman's website: http://www.rebeccaschiffman.com/photos/newyears.html. If anyone went to that show, please write me about it, I'd like to hear how it was.

Part III: I saw MIKE PATTON perform with the X-ecutioners. This was back in May or June. It was cool, sort of just like the album though. Anyway, It's always a thrill to see his perform regardless.

Missed Opportunitiy: The Peeping Tom show. I missed my chance this summer, though they are opening for The Who, I believe. Tickets for that will be very expensive, and I've seen The Who already, so I'm not sure if I'll buy a ticket for it. If anyone did see Peeping Tom live, let me know how it was. Thanks.
